Apple has begun trial production of the base iPhone 13 Model in India while preparing to go into full production by February 2022
According to IndiaToday, Apple is all set to introduce the "made in India" iPhone 13 soon. The trial production of the newly-launched iPhone 13 series has already begun in the Foxconn plant near Chennai, the very plant that was in the news this week for being shut down due to protests over food poisoning.
Apple is expected to start the commercial production of iPhone 13 in India for the domestic market in February 2022.
With the improvement of semiconductor supply, Apple has plans to expand the base iPhone 13 model production. According to industry executives, Hon Hai’s factory in Chennai, India, has currently trial-produced the iPhone 13, and is expected to start mass production in February next year, directly supplying the local Indian market and Overseas export.
Industry executives pointed out that the iPhone 13 produced in India will help Apple improve the supply of the device in the global market, because 20-30% of the iPhone 13 produced in India is usually exported. Read more about this in the Indian Times report.
