Apple TV+ Releases the Documentary 9/11: Inside the President's War Room along with a Trailer and more
Last week, the 20 year war in Afghanistan ended in total disgrace, leaving US personal interpreters, children and tens of billions worth of high-tech military equipment behind in a fashion that has given the U.S. a diplomatic black eye that will haunt them for decades. It's even more painful in light of this month's anniversary of 9/11. Apple TV+ has released a new documentary "9/11: Inside the President's War Room." Below is the trailer.
Some images stay with you for life. I clearly remember watching a morning show on CNBC on 9/11 when news of a small plane had struck one of the twin towers in New York. The hosts of the show were laughing at the stupidity of this "accident." Then as I was watching the live screen, a massive passenger plane flew into the second tower. It was a breathtaking moment and you instantly knew America was under attack and it meant war. Later seeing the towers collapse was an even more mindboggling and sickening sight to behold.
While you can't truly grasp those moments in a documentary, the documentary can fill in some of the missing pieces none of us were aware of at the time. I must admit, the documentary made this week's pull out of Afghanistan all the sadder, knowing the loss of life didn't result in wiping out the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.
Watch the documentary on Apple TV+ today. On 9/11, Apple will allow non-subscribers to see the documentary for free without out requiring a 7-day trial sign-up.
In other Apple TV+ news this week, Apple announced that the final season for the series "Dickinson" would begin on November 5, 2021.
This week Apple TV+ also announced that the new program "The Problem with Jon Stewart" will debut on September 30.
