A San Diego MD by the name of Tommy Korn is an Ophthalmologist that believes in digital health innovations. His specialty is in cataract and lens implant surgery; cornea-external eye disease, and geriatric eye disease. His LinkedIn bio in-part states: "I empower my patients by combining technology with human empathy to improve eyesight by creating friction-free healthcare experiences." His latest experiment with technology for patients is using the iPhone 13 Pro Max's Macro camera feature.

Dr. Korn provided a series of photos as presented below. He noted: "Been using the iPhone 13 Pro Max for MACRO eye photos this week.  Impressed.  Will innovate patient eye care & telemedicine. Photos below are from healing a resolving abrasion in a cornea transplant. Permission was obtained to use photos."

Dr. Korn is no stranger to Apple devices as his Twitter site has many entries about Apple Watch. One entry promotes an app by his company Sharp HealthCare.  

Nice PR work, nice plug for the iPhone 13's new Macro Photography feature for photos and videos. Apple's marketing states: "With its redesigned lens and powerful autofocus system, the new Ultra Wide camera can focus at just 2 cm — making even the smallest details seem epic."

While there are more important scans like retinal imaging and deep scans for diabetic patients eye health, the iPhone 13 Macro shot of the eye(s) can assist the patient in being able to see the healing process in progress after lens surgery.
