Samsung's Higher-End Galaxy Smartphone cameras are going to take another leap forward this year
Samsung's current periscope camera offers Galaxy S21 Ultra users with a clear advantage of the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Now Samsung is going to advance their cameras once again. Currently, the highest resolution of a mobile camera is 108MP. But this is going to change very soon. Today, Samsung Exynos posted an interesting status on Twitter as presented below.

Later this month Apple competitor Xiaomi will be introducing their new MI 11 Pro smartphone that will sport Samsung's latest and largest camera sensor. The backside camera may also include a mini display as presented in the rendering below.
A well-known network informant under the nickname Ice Universe, who often shares exclusive information about the latest developments in the tech industry, said that Samsung ISOCELL GN2 will be the largest mobile image sensor this year.
More precisely, it is not so much the camera itself that is unique as the back unit; which also includes an additional screen. The periscope module is also clearly visible, which will provide 120x zoom. The main camera module of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro will use a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GN2 1/1.12″ optical format sensor; the largest sensor in the industry.
According to PetaPixel, the all-new image sensor on the iPhone 12 Pro Max was 47% larger than last year's iPhone model and we're likely to see Apple's next iPhone take another leap forward to remain competitive with Samsung's next-gen sensor.
Samsung's periscope lens will still keep the next high-end Galaxy phones ahead of the iPhone until 2022 when Apple's 3nm A-Chip powered iPhones are to carry a superior zoom lens solution.
