Apple Updates their Trademark Coverage for 'Apple Music' and Files macOS Big Sur Icon Updates for 'Pages' and more
Apple has filed for an update to their registered trademark for 'Apple Music' to include new International Class protection. Apple has also filed for two updated macOS Big Sur icons. Earlier this week Patently Apple covered other trademark filings related to macOS Big Sur including Photo Booth, iWork's 'Numbers' and 'Keynote.
Apple Music
In 2016 Patently Apple posted an IP report covering the U.S. Patent and Trademark office granting Apple the Registered Trademark for "Apple Music". Apple's registered trademark was filed under the single International Class of #045 which covered the following: "Social Networking Services; Provide Social Networking Website."
This week Apple filed a trademark application to expand their protective coverage of the text-only version of "Apple Music" to include International Class 041 which covers the following:
"Providing information, podcasts and webcasts in the field of entertainment via the Internet concerning movies, music, videos, television, sports, news, history, science, politics, comedy, children's entertainment, animation, culture, and current events; digital video, audio and multimedia publishing services; providing entertainment information regarding movies, music, videos, television, sports, news, history, science, politics, comedy, children's entertainment, animation, culture, and current events; providing information, reviews and personalized recommendations of movies, music, videos, television, sports, news, history, science, politics, comedy, children's entertainment, animation, culture, and current events in the field of entertainment; entertainment services, namely, production of live musical performances; entertainment services, namely, providing live musical performances online via a global computer network; rental of digital entertainment content in the nature of movies, music, videos, television, sports, news, history, science, politics, comedy, children's entertainment, animation, culture, and current events, by means of communications networks, namely, provision of non-downloadable audio and audiovisual programs via an online video-on-demand and online music subscription service; providing a database of digital entertainment content in the nature of movies, music, videos, television, sports, news, history, science, politics, comedy, children's entertainment, animation, culture, and current events via electronic communication networks; entertainment services, namely, providing prerecorded audio and audiovisual content, information and commentary in the fields of music, concerts, videos, movies, television, books, news, sports, games and cultural events all via a global computer network."

macOS Big Sur "Pages" Updated Icon Trademark
Apple filed their trademark under International Class 009 covering the following:
"downloadable computer software for creating, editing, transmitting and printing documents comprised of text and graphics and utility programs for use therewith; downloadable computer software for accessing, viewing, annotating, storing, editing, downloading, displaying, sharing, and distributing electronic media, images, audio, video, data, information, and documents over the internet or other communications network."
Apple provided the Patent and Trademark Office with a webpage "Specimen" of how the trademark is being used in the market as presented below.
For the record, Apple also filed for the updated Pages Icon trademark in Hong Kong under application number 305484475.
Apple Updates macOS Big Sur "Preview" Icon
Apple has filed for the macOS Big Sur "Preview" icon update in Hong Kong today under number 305486680 as presented in-part below.

Apple filed their trademark under class 009 covering the following: "Recorded and downloadable computer software; recorded and downloadable computer software for editing, organizing, encrypting, exporting, annotating, sharing, combining and converting documents and images."
