We're learning this afternoon that a former co-star of The Morning Show, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, is reuniting with Apple TV+ and Reese Witherspoon and will topline psychological thriller titled Surface, which has been picked up straight to series with an eight-episode order. Production is slated to begin in 2021. A premiere timeframe has not yet been determined.

Surface marks the latest TV series from Witherspoon and her Hello Sunshine banner to land at Apple. In addition to The Morning Show, Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter's Hello Sunshine is behind Truth Be Told (returning for season two) and music competition series My Kind of Country.
