Apple Files for Two Figurative Trademarks covering 'Translate' and the 'Apple Developer App'
Apple has filed for two new figurative trademarks in the last few days. The first covers the iOS 14 'Translate' app logo. The second covers the Apple Developer App logo which is very close to the App Store logo.
Figurative Trademark for 'Translate'
The figurative trademark application was filed in Hong Kong today under number 305450003. It was filed under International class 9 covering "Computer software." The filing notes that Apple's (secretive) priority filing was made in Jamaica in late May 2020.

Apple’s Translate app, introduced in iOS 14, allows iPhone users to quickly translate between languages using text or voice input. Below is Apple's application in part for the Developer App.
Apple filed their trademark specifically under International Class 041 covering the following:
"Educational services, namely, providing news, information, and multimedia content in the nature of non-downloadable on-line videos in the field of computers, computer software, software applications, computer networks, and cloud computing networks; entertainment services in the nature of development, production, and presentation in the nature of distribution of multimedia entertainment content; providing entertainment in the nature of an ongoing informational news, reality, documentary, current events, and arts and culture programming show in the fields of computer programming and software development by means of telecommunications networks, computer networks, the Internet, and wireless communications networks."

Apple shows the page in-part below as their "Specimen" of use. The U.S. Patent Office defines a specimen as being an example of how a company is actually using their trademark in the marketplace with the goods or services in their application.
