Apple has Ordered a 12-Part Series titled "Earthsound" that will reportedly Deliver Cinematic 360 Sound Design
According to a new report published earlier today, Apple has ordered the 12-part series Earthsound from British production company Offspring Films. The half-hour series uses audio technology and cinematic 360 sound design to reveal the unexpected, unfamiliar and untold natural stories on every continent of the planet.
Offspring Films also produced Appleās Earth at Night in Color, that launches on Apple TV+ in December. That series makes use of next-generation cameras to reveal the nocturnal lives of animals, in color, for the first time and was filmed across six continents, from the Arctic Circle to the African grasslands. Earthsound certainly sounds interesting especially because of its timing to Apple's forthcoming AirPods Studio headphones being released next week, if the rumors pan out. Will Apple's new headphones support and/or enhance the audio experience of that documentary using their new Spatial Audio technology? Although it could simply be coincidental timing, I'm hoping there's a little more to this connection.
