Another Apple Watch to the rescue story has surfaced. This time is from the U.S. city of Ottawa Lake Michigan (population 309,000). Volunteer firefighter and father of two, Hunter Sanner was in an accident recently leaving him in a daze. When the cars made impact, airbags deployed, and Sanner's iPhone went flying. While Hunter could use his phone to call for help, Hunter was able to reach for his Apple Watch, and enable the SOS feature.

Sanner stated that "If you hold the side button in, the option for an SOS comes up...And what that did was it sent out a text to my wife Laurel and my family, all of my emergency contacts I had designated in my phone...That I was in an emergency, and it sent them my exact location of where I was at."

By using the Apple Watches SOS feature, it dialed 911. First responders showed up in minutes. Hunter's wife Laurel, was just behind them.

"My mind was racing. I didn't know exactly what had happened, but it was amazing, because I knew exactly where he was," Laurel recalled. "A lot of people don't know that that is an option on the Apple Watch, and it's something something very important that could save somebody's life honestly." Although Hunter's injuries weren't life threatening, hunter feels more people should know just how handy the Apple Watch feature is by notifying your family of a potentially serious accident and getting emergency services out to the scene as quickly as possible.
