Apple Hires a Top Hollywood Insider for Apple TV+ with a Solid Background in Partnership Development, Advertising & more

1 X COVER - Tim Connolly joins Apple TV+

Apple has continued its hiring spree of top Hollywood industry insiders by hiring Tim Connolly with a simple titled of "Video Business." Connolly spent 1 year with Quibi where he was "Head of Partnerships & Advertising" and worked with Jeffrey Katzenberg Founder & Chairman of the Board.  Connolly also worked 4 years at Hulu as SVP, Head of Partnerships & Distribution where he led subscribers acquisitions with partners Apple, Amazon, Spotify and Sprint. Connolly also worked 7 years as VP Digital Distribution and New Product Development at The Walt Disney Company.

Earlier in his career, Connolly worked with Ericsson as GM of Mobile Applications. Connolly should be a good fit with Apple TV+ that's not even a year old and to be sure his official title will change over time to reflect his new position beyond the the generic "Video Business," that is shown on his Apple Inc. LinkedIn page.

Over at UK's Telegraph they add that Apple is "seeking to improve demand for other channels that it sells through its TV app. Apple offers access to alternative video providers, such as Britbox and Hallmark Movies, for extra fees, but HBO, one of the best-known channels, recently stopped selling through the Apple TV app.

Apple started selling combined access to two channels - CBS All Access and Showtime - for a discount last month, a possible step towards selling a wider "bundle" of channels. His LinkedIn account shows that he's working out of  the "Greater Los Angeles Area."
