The Design of Apple's Second Flagship Store that is set to Open in Bangkok on Friday is akin to the Steve Jobs Theater
About two and half years ago Patently Apple posted a report titled "Apple's First Flagship Store in Thailand Appears to be headed to the ICONSIAM World Class Luxury Shopping Mall." Apple's second flagship store in Thailand opens this Friday in Bangkok and takes on the appearance, at first glance, of the general look of the ground level view of Apple's Steve Jobs Theater back in Cupertino. Of course it's not a duplicate design as you'll see in the architectural drawings below. Though, in spirit, it's definitely a design that plays-off of the Cupertino design.
The new store is located in front of Bangkok's 'CentralWorld' which is the world's 11th largest shopping complex in the world.
Will there be big crowds to the new store this Friday or will it be severely subdued with health checks discouraging crowds? Depending on the reaction and crowd size we may do a follow-up report on this store's opening.
The photos used in our report, including our cover graphic, originated from a February 26, 2020 report posted by Inside Retail Asia.
One more thing: Nine months after Apple's first store in Thailand debuted, a video surfaced showing the Apple Store and the surrounding landscape at night with flashing lights generated from a barge on the water below. It's really a great tourist spot to visit.
At times it looks as if the visitors to the Apple Store are approaching some kind of Hollywood Gala. Apple must be thrilled with that location as throngs of consumers are constantly flowing in: Ka-Ching!
