Apple has been Crowned King of Revenue Share in Western Europe for Q1 2020
A new analytical report published today revealed the Smartphone Vendor ASP and Revenue Share in Western Europe for Q1 2020. Despite ASP nudging upwards, wholesale revenues in the Western European region declined by -10% YoY on COVID-19's limited demand.
Western Europe is the third largest region by value globally. Apple and Samsung continued to enjoy a duopoly, as the two together account for more than 80% of the overall revenues in the region, with Apple taking the clear majority of 49%. Huawei was ranked a distant third with 7% of the wholesale revenue share which doesn't show leadership.
With Apple being the clear leader in smartphone profits/revenue share in Western Europe, it was quite surprising to see Strategy Analytics's report waste time writing so much about the losers.
The report was about profits/revenue share and yet the report wasted time stating things like: "Xiaomi has had success in several W. European markets and notably is seeing strong demand for its Redmi Note 8 and Redmi 8 models." Who cares? Xiaomi had no success making more profit/revenue share, end of story.
