Yesterday Patently Apple posted a report titled "Apple's Future over-the-ear Headphones may use magnetized swappable parts that they're now in the Process of Patenting." One day later and we're learning that at the end of the month Apple Music head Oliver Schusser who has been with Apple since 2004 as VP of iTunes International will be taking the top post at Beats, replacing Luke Wood who was President and COO of Beats by Dr. Dre since 2011 with prior history in the Music Business beginning with DreamWorks Records in 1997.

Below is a photo and basic information on Schusser from LinkedIn that has yet to update Schusser's Profile.

Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services reportedly  wrote to employees recently stating that "In the last year, Luke Wood told me about his desire to do something new. I appreciated the heads up so that it allowed us to plan for this transition."

Cue added that the best thing for Beats right not is "to keep the business moving forward," affirming that Apple remains "committed to the Beats brand and the importance of maintaining its role firmly in the music portfolio."

A Beats spokesperson confirmed to CNET that Schusser will lead Beats after Wood's departure on April 30. Schusser will also continue to run Apple Music and International Content, reporting to Cue.  For more, read the full C/NET report.

Apple Delivering more Face Shields

On April 6th Apple's CEO announced the company's foray into custom face shields for health care workers. On April 7th Apple published instructions on how to adjust their newly designed face shields. Tim Cook added that "For Apple, this is a labor of love and gratitude and we'll share more of our efforts over time."

In the blink of an eye Apple delivered tens of thousands of their face shields to Cooper University Health Care in New Jersey on Thursday and today we're learning that Apple delivered another 160,000 Face Shields to Logistics Victory Los Angeles to Help City Combat COVID-19.

Logistics Victory Los Angeles issued a press release today that stated in-part: "Los Angeles thanks Apple for this generous donation of face shields that are critical to frontline health care workers battling the COVID-19 pandemic," said Port of Los Angeles Executive Director Gene Seroka, the City’s Chief Logistics Officer during this crisis."

It appears that Apple plans to deliver these face shields on a steady schedule focusing on one establishment at a time so as to gain maximum press coverage.
