On August 10, Patently Apple posted a report titled "Apple Store at Florida's Aventura Mall Opened today with first-of-its-kind Amphitheater for Today at Apple Sessions." Today the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted Apple a design patent for their Aventura Mall "Building" that was designed by collaboration between Foster + Partners and Apple's Retail Development Team.

Apple was also granted  patents for an Adapter, Apple Store Headphone's wall display and another kind of display that would seem to be one for the home.

Unlike "patent applications" that provide the public with an abstract, summary and details of an invention, design patents published around the world are limited to only providing the public with design patent figures. No additional specifics of the design are made available. This makes it difficult at time to figure out what a "design" is for. The design patent for a "Display Stand" makes sense as one for the home, but without details we have no idea what's behind this design. Will it be a future Wireless charging stand? That's the drawback to design patents. Sometimes we're really in the dark with just patent figure visuals.
