Apple Wins Ten Design Patents for their Latest iPhones & has filed for the 'Close Your Rings' Trademark

1 XFINAL cover - iphone Design Patent Report - Patently Apple

The Hong Kong Patent Office updated its user interface recently and design patents have been slow to be posted. The latest design patents published for Apple cover ten iPhone designs relating to iPhone models XR, XS and XS Max. The design patents were "Registered" (same as granted) on April 23, 2019.

Two of the designs covering the iPhone XR iPhone XS Max were broken out of the pack while the remaining eight designs covering Apple's latest iPhone designs are presented in list form. The other design patents are narrowly focused on specific attributes of the iPhones such as the "camera" or another highlighting the construction of a corner of an iPhone and so forth.

Unlike "patent applications" that provide the public with an abstract, summary and details of an invention, design patents published around the world are limited to only providing the public with the design patent figures provided by the inventor(s). No additional specifics of the design are made available. Below are the iPhone designs granted by the Hong Kong Patent Office.

Apple has filed for the 'Close Your Rings' trademark with the EU Patent Office. It was filed on May 16, 2019. I waited to post this in the hopes of finding other filings in other countries that would provide full International Class coverage.

In their EU filing, Apple has refused to make known what they want protection for specifically. The information is only available to EU members. With that said, the classes listed below that are listed in Apple's filing, cover the basics of what each class represents:

Class 09:  covers hardware & computers
