Unbox Therapy's 'Bendgate Man' Weighs in on the issue of Bent iPad Pro's Ridiculously Late
On December 19th Patently Apple posted a report about Apple's iPad Pro with a bending issue. We noted in the report that "Before Unbox Therapy jumps in on this issue and bangs the "Bendgate" drum again, the news is already breaking that some iPad Pro customers are receiving bent iPads. Apple has confirmed that some of its 2018 iPad Pros are shipping with a very slight bend in the aluminum chassis. Apple never likes to admit fault for anything and has decided to call the defect a 'side effect' of the manufacturing process."
On December 21st we sarcastically criticized Apple's position on bent iPad Pros and reported that Apple's former Marketing Director returned his iPad Pro because he got one of the units that were bent on December 26th.
Even though the Apple community is by now fully aware of the issue that began with a picture sent into the MacRumors forum, Unbox Therapy's Lewis Hilsenteger still had to enter the matter because he believes that he's the original Bendgate Man and so the bending issue is his to comment on (as my eyes roll).
True, the bendable iPhone 6 bendable video issue did earn Hilsenteger 71 million views and made him the famous reviewer that he is today. However this time around, Hilsenteger is so behind the curve on this issue that it makes him look a little out of touch. Of all people he should have been on this issue flare up on the same day that the story broke.
With that being said, below is the Unbox Therapy's video issue titled "The iPad Pro Is Bending. I'm Not Happy."
