Apple Introduces Turn-by-Turn Maps in Several Major Indian Cities including Mumbai and New Delhi
Up until now, there hasn't been any real competition to Google Maps in India. Google’s free-to-use map service is considered the go-to map service for navigating in any part of the country. Now India iPhone users will be able to get turn-by-turn Maps service in major India cities like Chandigarh, Mumbai, and New Delhi, according to serval Indian sources.
The sources tell their Indian audiences that "This is a highly convenient feature for users who need to explore the routes in the neighborhoods while driving or walking. Apple Maps will also let users switch between walking and driving modes for the navigation."
In late December 2018 Patently Apple posted a report titled "The Indian Government is set to meet with Apple in Davos in January to Iron out a Deal for a Major Indian Plant." Going into the World Economic Forum in Davos 2019 that starts on January 22, Apple will be able to show India's Minister the progress Apple is making in his country with their Indian team as another sign of good faith.
