When Apple introduced iPhone X with its TrueDepth Camera for Face ID last September, they also added a little fun feature for its Messages app called Animoji. Simply put, Animoji are animated emoji that uses iPhone X's face-capture technology. Once the user chooses one of Apple's emoji characters, the user is able to send a message that carries a voice message or song with the chosen character mimicking your facials expressions of a smile, frown or laugh.

Apple filed for design patents to protect their first generation of Animoji back in March 2018 and yesterday they were granted design patents for their first wave of designs in Hong Kong, China.

In this report we present you with the first six colorful Animoji characters covering Alien, Chicken, Unicorn, Robot, Rabbit and Mr. Dung. All of the sets present you with jumbo images.

If you've yet to try this on your iPhone X, you could check out Apple's support page titled "Use Animoji on your iPhone X" that will guide you through the process of creating an Animoji in your Messages app.

Before Apple introduces their new iPhones and perhaps another round of Animoji characters, most of the first characters are now protected. Below is one of the designs registered in Hong Kong, China, on Friday August 24, 2018. The formal document, in-part, covers the registered design for the "Alien" character.
