Apple was Granted Two Registered Trademarks for "iMac Pro" this Week while filing for a Trademark in China related to AI
This week the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office published a pair of registered trademarks for 'iMac Pro' while filing for a new trademark in Hong Kong China that covers AI and Machine Learning.
Registered Trademark Certificate for "iMac Pro"
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted two Registered Trademarks for 'iMac Pro under numbers 5,490,046 and 5,490,045. The only difference between the two is their font styles as noted in the images below. Apple's iMac Pro began shipping in December 2017.
Both Registered Trademarks were filed un International Class 9 covering the following: "Computers; computer hardware; computer peripheral devices; computer keyboards; computer mice; sound recording and reproducing apparatus; audio speakers sold as component features of computers; cameras sold as component features of computers; microphones sold as component features of computers; data storage apparatus in the nature of an internal hard drive featuring software for the electronic storage of data; electrical and electronic connectors, wires, cables, chargers, and adapters for use with computers."
In other IP News, Apple has filed for a trademark for the word "TURI" in Hong Kong. In September 2016 Apple acquired a small Indian Machine Learning startup by that name.
Apple filed the TURI trademark under International Classes 9 and 42.
International Class 9 covers all manner of hardware from the iPhone to smartglasses and extends to cover machine learning, AI, data analytics, data mining and more.
International Class 42 covers scientific and technological services and research and design; industrial analysis and research services; computer programming; design and development of computer hardware and software; design, development and maintenance of proprietary computer software in the field of natural language, speech, speaker, language, voice recognition, and voice-print recognition; application service provider (ASP) services featuring software for machine learning and artificial intelligence; consulting services in the field of computer machine learning and artificial intelligence software development and more.
