Last week Patently Apple posted a report titled "Apple's iPhone X made Time's Top 25 Inventions for 2017 Behind Guilt-Free Ice Cream and Eyesight Glasses for the Blind." Today Time released their list of the top ten gadgets for 2017 where we see Apple's iPhone X took second spot while Samsung's Galaxy S8 rang in three notches below at #5. The Apple Watch got the nod for #9. Apple and Nintendo both earned two spots each on the top 10 for 2017.

The top gadget of the year went to Nintendo's Switch. Times writer Lisa Eadicicco said the Switch's "play anywhere, anytime" approach, combined with a stellar games roster, from the recently launched Super Mario Odyssey to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, makes the Switch a true knockout."
