Multiple updates to the 'Apple' Logo Trademark throughout the summer provide us with Hints of Future Products & Services
Apple legal has been busy all summer long updating their Apple logo so as to cover future products and services legally. It's evident that Apple legal has bombarded the Trademark Office with possible product and service entries primarily under International Class 009 to make it difficult to figure out what Apple is actually thinking of bringing to market in the near future. Over the summer Apple has made sure to cover things like exercise equipment (likely associated with GymKit), transit and parking location maps, hotel reservations, tourism, electricity distribution, game consoles and games.
In their most recent trademark filing we find interesting entries such as virtual and augmented reality displays and controllers, home theater systems, entertainment systems and televisions which have all popped up in several recent audio specific patent filings.
New Apple products under the Apple logo have to be legally covered ahead of time. Of course we'll never know when or if the new products listed will ever come to market in any form, but when there's a large volume of them being made public in these applications you know that something new listed in these filings is in the works.
By covering a number of Apple logo trademark filings at one time we're able to see that there are multiple possible trends on the horizon.
