Apple Updates Trademarks including 'Apple Music' and a Nice Schematic of the new Steve Jobs Theater Surfaces
Since Apple's WWDC event back in June Apple legal has been very busy filing a long string on new and updated trademarks for Apple as noted in our archives. The most recent trademark filings include 'Listen on Apple Podcasts' and 'Apple Music.' For 'Apple Music,' Apple updated their international class coverage to cover headgear and all manner of promotional clothing items such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, wristbands and more. Also included in this report is a nice schematic of the new Steve Jobs Theater that some of you might enjoy reviewing.
Apple's E.U. Trademark Filing In-Part for 'Apple Music'
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published Apple's trademark for 'Apple Music' under number 87638517. The trademark is covered under International Class 025 with the following verbiage:
"Clothing; footwear; headgear; shirts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, jogging suits, trousers, pants, shorts, tank tops, rainwear, cloth bibs, skirts, blouses, dresses, suspenders, sweaters, jackets, coats, raincoats, snow suits, ties, robes, hats, caps, sun-visors, belts, wristbands, scarves, sleepwear, pajamas, lingerie, underwear, boots, shoes, sneakers, sandals, booties, slipper socks, swimwear, waterproof clothes, and masquerade and Halloween costumes."
Apple's trademark update in China under number 304296510 carries the same verbiage as their European filing above. In their U.S. filing under number 87638517, Apple reduces the verbiage on their trademark update to the following: "Clothing, namely, shirts, t-shirts, sweatshirts and jackets; headgear, namely, hats and caps."
'Listen on Apple Podcasts'
While Apple had rechristened their 'iTunes Podcasts' branding to 'Apple Podcasts' earlier this year, it's taken till now for Apple legal to finally get around to officially filing for a trademark to protect it.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published Apple's trademark for 'Listen on Apple Podcasts' under number 87635733. The trademark is covered under International Class 041 with the following verbiage:
"Providing ongoing podcasts in the fields of entertainment, music, news, current events, public affairs, politics, government, sports, fitness, recreation, health, medicine, business, finance, history, arts, culture, society, education, science, technology, children, families, religion, spirituality, games, hobbies, fiction, and topics of general interest; providing a website for the uploading, storing, sharing, viewing and posting of podcasts."
The Steve Jobs Theater
Earlier this week Germany's Storeteller site published a nice overview graphic of the new Steve Jobs Theater that I thought some of you might enjoy seeing.
