The iPhone 8 Teardown is now available from iFixit wherein they reveal an X-Ray Image of a Patented Camera Feature
Whenever a new iPhone launches we can always count on iFixit to be on the spot with a new teardown regarding the product's repairability. Along the way the investigations will turn up some interesting tidbits of information. One of the features that iFixit emphasized this time around was a feature in the new iPhone 8 camera. They noted that just like the iPhone 6 Plus camera, the iPhone 8 camera was now using the same optical image stabilizing feature of integrating four magnets around the camera lens. This is a feature that was first uncovered by Patently Apple in a June 2015 patent application report. The patent figure below showcases this feature. Our cover graphic is from the iFixit report wherein they used an X-ray image to verify the use of four magnets surrounding iPhone 8's camera lens that provides the camera with superior optical imaging stabilization.
