Apple wins Design Patents for Chicago's Newest Apple Store and a MacBook with Back Edge USB-C Port

1AF X99 CHICAGO STORE DESIGN PATENT REPORT COVER

 

Today the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted Apple a series of eight design patents. The two designs that stood out most covered Apple's Chicago Apple Store that is under construction and noted in our cover graphic. The second design is for a MacBook with a single USB-C port that is located on the back edge of the MacBook and not on the side as its situated today, giving it a much cleaner appearance. Whether this is a design change Apple is contemplating for the future or one that they passed on is unknown at this time.

 

Unlike "patent applications," design patents that are published by the U.S. or any foreign Patent and Trademark Office don't reveal pertinent information about a particular design. All we get are simple patent figures as noted below.
