Apple Rumored to be introducing 5.85" and 6.46" OLED iPhone 9 Models next year with a possible new Third Model
In May the Korea Herald reported that Samsung Display signed a second deal for 2018 iPhones. Apple's future iPhone 9 is rumored to include two models including one with a 5.28" OLED display and their higher-end coming with a 6.46" OLED display. Today the Herald is updating their news about the size of Apple's smaller iPhone 9 model and more.
Instead of a 5.28" display originally marked for Apple's smaller iPhone 9 model, sources tell the Herald that Apple has switched plans and will introduce a new 5.85-inch sized OLED display with the larger 6.46-inch model reserved for their 'Plus' model which is larger than Samsung's current Note 8 that was just released with a 6.3" AMOLED display.
The report lastly noted that "If the plan goes ahead as planned, Apple will sell three OLED models next year following the debut of the first one later this year. Considering iPhone sells more than 200 million units every year, it is estimated to secure OLED panels for 70 million phones this year and the number could surge to 170 million next year."
