1AF X 99 SAMSUNG NOTE 8 IS CONFIRMED

On Saturday Patently Apple posted a report titled "Samsung Offers Note7 Customers the Option to get a Free Galaxy S8 in Exchange in March." Since that time, Samsung Note fans have expressed their disappointed in that offer being that those who love their Note smartphones love them for the ability to use a stylus for art or for business. The feedback has forced Samsung to update their Note7 exchange program to include their next generation Note 8.

Today, a South Korean tech report states that "Samsung Electronics Co. said Monday it is offering a special upgrade program for owners of the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone in South Korea who swap the fire-prone device for the Galaxy S7 or the S7 Edge smartphone.

The program allows South Korean owners of the Note7 who exchange the device for the S7 or the S7 Edge smartphone to upgrade the replacements to either a Galaxy S8 smartphone or a Note 8 phablet, Samsung said in a statement.

Note 7 customers will pay about the half the price of the S7 or the S7 Edge until they exchange the replacements with either an S8 or a Note 8. The S8 smartphone is scheduled to be released in February or March next year and the Note 8 phablet is expected to be launched in August or September next year.

The upgrade program in South Korea will be carried out by the end of November. Samsung is expected to announce similar upgrade programs in other countries in the future.

Samsung's Note smartphones have always had a single slot for their S Pen. They should now seriously consider a second slot that could house a mini fire extinguisher. Wow would that be the smartphone feature of the year! And such a brave move would make all Note smartphone fans safe and the U.S. Federal Aviation Authority happy. Just don't expect Samsung to do the right thing though, because unlike Apple, it's not in their DNA (Ha!).
