Intel introduced their 3D depth RealSense Camera back in 2013 at a Computex trade show in Taiwan. It's only begun to roll out in selective all-in-one PC's in the last year. In 2012 Intel introduced the all-in-one desktop that was iMac-Like with a touch screen and foldable stand as noted below in a couple of photos from that event. That came to life today from Microsoft in the form of the Surface Studio desktop PC today. So Intel dabbles in hardware and creates hardware reference designs to inspire Windows OEM's to push PC designs forward. This week Intel was granted a new design patent for a next generation tablet PC that's more like a mobile desktop. Like all design patents we're not given a single clue about the specifications of the device. All we're given is a series of patent figures that paint a concept of what they're working on and what we might see surface in the market through one of their hardware partners in the future. It would appear that this type of device is a different twist that will be aimed to compete with Apple's iPad Pro market.
