It's being reported today that Apple's iPhone 7 was the number one smartphone in Taiwan for the month of September. In total there were 684,000 smartphones sold in the Taiwan market in September, increasing 3.1% on month, and iPhones had the largest market share at 29% in sales volume, and more importantly, 61.6% in sales value, according to the Apple Daily citing retail channels.

Samsung Electronics ranked a distant second in sales volume with 16.5%, followed by Asustek Computer 15.4%, HTC 11.8% and Sony Mobile Communications 8.5%. In terms of sales value, Samsung recorded the second largest market share at 10.9%, followed by Sony Mobile 8%, Asustek 7.1% and HTC 6.6%.

iPhone 7 128GB was the top selling single model in sales volume, followed by the iPhone 7 Plus 128GB, Samsung J7, Asustek ZenFone 3 ZE552KL, iPhone 7 32GB, Asustek ZenFone 3 ZE520KL, HTC Desire 728, Sony Xperia XA, Taiwan Mobile Amazing X3S and Asustek ZenFone 2 Laser ZE550KL. It should also be noted that Samsung's Note7 didn't even make the top ten list.

The last point of interest is that the statistics only reflect sales that began on September 9 with pre-orders and sales in stores that only began on September 16. So Apple's market share would have been even higher with a full month's worth of sales.
