Apple Acquires a Small Indian Machine Learning Startup
Apple appears to be on a machine learning company buying spree. After buying Perceptio at the end of 2015 and Turi just a few months ago, Apple has now acquired an India/US-based machine learning team, Tuplejump, reports TechCrunch.
Earlier this year, Apple announced that they'll be opening a new Maps development office in Hyderabad India. Tuplejump is also located in Hyderabad showing Apple's commitment to the Indian market. At present, the Tuplejump website is no longer reachable with a Google search, another sign that the company has been acquired.
In the big picture it's a rather small acquisition for Apple. The startup only had a handful of employees led by CEO Rohit Rai. For more on this see the TechCrunch report here.
