Fox Business is reporting that "At this point, it's well known that microprocessor giant Intel will be supplying cellular modems to Apple for its next-generation iPhone. It was previously believed that Intel would get a minority allocation in the new iPhone, with cellular modem giant Qualcomm getting the majority of the orders. However, a new report from Cowen and Company analyst Timothy Arcuri suggests the chipmaker could actually grab the majority baseband share in the new iPhone.

The Barron's report specifically notes Acuri writing that "Intel’s design win for the 7360 modem in the new iPhone was always a positive, but that new checks show that Intel products will now be in in more than half of iPhone 7 units, which would translate into about 100 million to 110 million units for Intel. That’s double his previous expectation of just 25% share for Intel." The story was also covered by Fox Business News here.

Patently Apple posted a report in June titled "It's been confirmed that Intel has landed a Major Modem Order for the iPhone 7." Our report was specific to point out that at the moment it appeared that Intel was getting the AT&T iPhone 7 modem business. An earlier report estimated that Intel's order could be as high as 50% of Apple's modem business until there was clarification in our June report.
