Pranav Mistry is Samsung's Global Vice President of Research at Samsung and the head of Think Tank Team. He is best known for his work on SixthSense, Samsung Galaxy Gear and Project Beyond. Patently Apple first covered the SixthSense project back in 2009 when it debuted at a TED presentation. Now with Samsung, Mistry is able to put heavier resources into the SixSense Project and put a projector into their Galaxy Gear smartwatch and make his dream project finally come to market. The good news, if you're a Samsung fan that is, is that this isn't a pie-in-the-sky theory or invention that might come to market – but rather an invention that is determined to come to market because it's being driven by someone at Samsung that has the power to make it happen.

There's no use in complicating this. The invention is simple. A future Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch will have a projector that could project a user interface onto the back of user's hand, or arm, or onto an office or home security door to unlock it, or project in on a wall to see your Windows files in a pinch, or enlarge a map or virtual keyboard on a user's forehand and more.
