Although Nvidia launched their new insanely powered GeForce GTX 1080 video card to handle VR applications earlier this month, Nvidia's Jen-Hsun Huang had some bad news for those attending their press conference at the Computex trade show that opened this week. Huang presented a depressing list of shortcomings in VR that have to be solved before, in his eyes, the platform is delivering proper realism, reports Trusted Reviews.

Huang went on to state "Oh my gosh, we're missing so much. First of all, VR displays are a little too cumbersome. It has to be much more elegant, being connected by a wire has to be solved. The resolution has to be a lot higher. The physical worlds do not behave according to the laws of physics. The environment you're in isn't beautiful enough. We're going to be solving this problem for the next 20 years." That's certainly a surprising dose of realism to a VR Industry creaking under the weight of hype.

Apple has been building a secret VR team for some time now and has a lot of new technology to bring to the table via PrimeSense 3D depth patents. Whether Apple is able to overcome some of the problems that Nvidia's CEO says exists today with VR is unknown at this time.
