Apple Wins a Patent for Networked iDevices acting as a Coordinated In-Home Smoke Detector System & More
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office officially published a series of 66 newly granted patents for Apple Inc. today. In this particular report we cover Apple's invention covering wireless device networks with smoke detector capabilities. In addition we cover eight Apple Watch related design patents. And finally, we wrap up this week's granted patent report with our traditional listing of the remaining granted patents that were issued to Apple today.
Granted Patent: Wireless Device Networks with Smoke Detection Capabilities
Apple's newly granted patent covers their invention relating to electronic devices, and more particularly, to using networked electronic devices to detect smoke associated with fires. Apple's patent FIG. 1 noted below is a diagram of a system in which a network of electronic devices may be used to monitor for the presence of smoke in the surrounding environment and may be used to take actions such as issuing alerts or controlling fire suppression equipment
Apple's granted patent 9,332,099 was filed in Q4 2015 and published today by the US Patent and Trademark Office. Patently Apple covered Apple's first granted patent for this invention in September 2015 here. Apple's original patent application was covered back in November 2014.
Apple Granted 8 Apple Watch Design Patents Today
Apple was granted 8 design patents today relating to Apple Watch. The six smaller designs (D755,295 to D755,300) are described as "labels" whereas the lower larger designs (D755,070 and D755,074) are titled Bands.
