Edward Snowden Colorfully Refutes the FBI's Claims against Apple in a Presentation on Surveillance and Democracy
A new video published yesterday notes the NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden saying that the FBI's ostensibly last-ditch attempt to unlock San Bernardino shooter Syed Rizwan Farook's iPhone is a sham. More specifically, Snowden stated outright in the interview from Moscow that "Respectfully, that's bullshit."
The 33 minute video presented by the Center for Media Justice below covers a presentation titled "A Conversation on Surveillance, Democracy, and Civil Society," which discusses the threat Big Data and mass surveillance pose to our democracy. Snowden's comments on the 'sham' come at about the 30:28 minute mark.
For those interested in this topic, the presentation is of value even if the audio covering Snowden's participation is annoyingly muffled.
