Apple's 'watchOS' is now a Registered Trademark in the U.S. while they file for 'Music Memos' TM in Europe
Today, the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office published Apple's latest registered trademark for 'watchOS' under registration number 86549154. The official date on the certificate is stamped February 9, 2016. Apple's 'watchOS' is the mobile operating system for Apple Watch that was first released on April 24, 2015. In other Apple IP news today we learned that Apple filed for the 'Music Memos' trademark in Europe yesterday. Apple introduced 'Music Memos' on January 20, 2016 in a press release. Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, noted in the release that "Musicians around the world, from the biggest artists to aspiring students, use Apple devices to create amazing music; the innovative new Music Memos app will help them quickly capture their ideas on iPhone and iPad whenever inspiration strikes."
Apple's Registered Trademark Certificate for 'watchOS'
Apple's 'watchOS' was registered under International Class 014 which covered the following specifically:
"Horological and chronometric instruments and cases therefor; Horological and chronometric instruments and parts thereof; timepieces."
Apple Files for 'Music Memos' Trademark in Europe
Apple filed for the 'Music Memos' TM under International Class 009 with the specific verbiage as follows:
"Computer software used in connection with musical composition and songwriting; computer software used to analyze, record, and catalog melodies, vocal performances, musical instruments, musical compositions, and musical notation; sound recording and reproducing apparatus; audio, video, and digital mixers; audio amplifiers; audio receivers; audio decoders; computer software for creating, authoring, distributing, downloading, transmitting, receiving, playing, editing, extracting, encoding, decoding, displaying, storing and organizing text, data, graphics, images, audio, video, and other multimedia content, electronic publications, and electronic games; computer software for use in recording, organizing, transmitting, manipulating, and reviewing text, data, audio files, video files and electronic games in connection with computers, televisions, television set-top boxes, audio players, video players, media players, telephones and handheld digital electronic devices; computer software for use on handheld mobile digital electronic devices and other consumer electronics."
