In October we posted a report titled "Microsoft Guns for Apple by Challenging the MacBook Pro with their All-New Notebook Called 'Surface Book."' It's become evident by Microsoft's recent moves including their 2013 attempt to say that their Surface Pro 3 was really a better "MacBook Air," that they're out to shadow Apple's hardware closer than Samsung ever did. Microsoft's ex-CEO Steve Ballmer stated on CNBC that only Microsoft could challenge Apple in Hardware and Software. Today there's a rumor floating around that Microsoft may be thinking of a dumbed down version of the Xbox to compete directly with Apple TV. If I was a gambling man, I'd put money that Microsoft wants to compete with Apple's iMac before going after the smaller Apple TV market; But only time will tell.
