Target Stores Sold One iPad Every Second on Thanksgiving Day
According to Custora E-Commerce Pulse, which tracks more than 500 million online shoppers, the share of mobile e-commerce orders made on Apple devices during Thanksgiving was 78.3%, compared to 21.5% for rival Android devices. Still, that's a small improvement for Android, which last year accounted for 19.3% of sales.
Target Sold One iPad Every Second on Thanksgiving
In retail store news, Target issued a release in which it said that Apple iPads were top sellers in in its stores and online. The retailer sold an iPad every second throughout the day on Thanksgiving. However, a part of the success of the iPad sales was due to the deals that Target was offering: a $150 gift certificate with an iPad Air 2 purchase and a $100 certificate for an iPad mini 4.
Apple Watch Could Double Sales to Date This Quarter
According to FBR & Co. analyst Daniel Ives, he's gotten word that the Apple Watch is "ramping interest/sales among consumers based on conversations at various Apple, Target, and Best Buy stores. While Watch unit sales have been roughly 6 million since launch, based on our analysis and improving consumer interest heading into the holiday season, we believe Watch sales in the December quarter should be close to the 5 million-/6 million-unit mark."
It was also reported by USA Today that "eBay reported that one iPhone 6S sold every six seconds."
