Profitless HTC Releases an Anti-Apple Ad to Help Set us Free
In 1984 Apple released a Super Bowl Commercial Introducing Macintosh Computer that has become of the best ads ever created. Apple wanted to challenge the status quo and set people from the grips of Big Blue (Big Brother).
Now HTC has created an anti-Apple ad that plays off of that same theme with a twist of 'Think Different.' In this ad, Apple is portrayed as the one serving bland low end and upper class monotone drones. HTC is of course is the youthful Hero of the day to set the world free and more particularly, Apple drones free.
It's a nice polished ad. Yet to have any meaning, HTC would have to prove that they're winning over Apple iPhone fans in huge numbers. You know – the kind of numbers that Apple's CEO revealed during their last financial conference call where 30% of Apple's iPhone sales came from Android switchers in the last quarter.
Until such time, HTC is just trying to cheer up the Android world and kicking white Apple's on a table and running in the woods seems to be their chosen fantasy. When you can't make a profit, you can always pretend that you're a super hero to get you through the day.
