According to a new report this morning, Metal-alloy chassis maker Catcher Technology generated its highest quarterly consolidated revenues at NT$21.405 billion (US$653 million), net operating profit of NT$7.625 billion and net profit of NT$8.154 billion for the third quarter of 2015, according to the company's financial report released at an investors conference on November 6.
Catcher has seen steady demand for metal-alloy chassis from vendors of mid-range and high-end smartphones like Apple, notebooks and tablets. Company chairman Hung Shui-shu said that the company has started production of carbon fiber and fiberglass chassis but doesn't expect these to become mainstream in the next few years, Hung indicated. Apple has a number of patent applications regarding the use of carbon fiber (one, two and three).
Another Apple supplier reported profits for October. Pegatron has reported consolidated revenues of NT$175.299 billion (US$3.35 billion) for October 2015, representing a 5.55% increase on month and 53.36% increase on year. The company has totaled NT$976.588 billion in year-to-date revenues, up 23.96% compared with the same time last year.
Whether the successes of Apple's suppliers reflect well for the iPhone 6s is unknown at this time.
