Apple Invests in 3 New Solar Project in Inner Mongolia

10. 0 PA NEWS -

It was reported in China earlier this week that Zhonghuan Semiconductor subsidiary, Zhonghuan Energy is working on three solar PV projects totaling 20 MW, 50 MW and 100 MW, respectively, in the northern Chinese territory of Inner Mongolia. According to PV Magazine, Apple is reportedly investing around 40% of the required US$103.16 million, while Zhonghuan Energy, the main shareholder, and SunPower provided the remaining capital.

This is not the first time Apple has been involved in Chinese solar projects. In April Apple invested in two PV projects in the western Chinese province of Sichuan, alongside Sichuan Shengtian New Energy, another subsidiary of Zhonghuan Semiconductor.
