Apple Files Trademarks for 'GameplayKit' and 'ReplayKit' in Europe

Today the European Patent and Trademark Office published three of Apple's latest trademark filings that were officially filed yesterday. All three trademarks were filed under the same International Class 009 which specifically covers "Computer software used in developing other software applications; application development software."

 

Apple Files for 3 Gaming Related Trademarks in Europe

 

Apple has filed for trademarks in Europe covering Apple's GameplayKit, ReplayKit and Apple ReplayKit.

GameplayKit: According to Apple, GameplayKit is a collection of foundational tools and technologies for building games in iOS, OS X, and tvOS. Unlike high-level game engines such as SpriteKit and SceneKit, GameplayKit is not involved in animating and rendering visual content. Instead, you use GameplayKit to develop your gameplay mechanics and to design modular, scalable game architecture with minimal effort.

ReplayKit: According to Apple, ReplayKit provides an easy-to-use framework that lets players record their gameplay - amazing plays, great victories, or solutions to tough challenges - and share video with other players and viewers online. Apple's ReplayKit was introduced during their World Wide Developer Conference that was held in June 2015.
