Apple will be Opening Two new Stores in Dubai on October 29
In August we were first to report that Apple was planning to open their first Middle Eastern store in Dubai. Apple had been granted an exemption from foreign ownership laws in the United Arab Emirates that would allow Apple to control 100 percent of operations in that country. Late yesterday Apple announced the opening of not one, but two Stores in Dubai. The first is located in the 'Yas Mall' and the second is located in the 'Mall of the Emirates.'
On Sunday we posted a report titled "Apple is the Top Brand in new United Arab Emirates Retail Study. The UAE MBLM Brand Intimacy 2015 Report, which has been released for the first time, ranked Apple as the most intimate brand in the UAE, followed by Lexus and Samsung placing second and third, respectively. The MBLM study was conducted to understand the emotional bonds between consumers and brands.
The interest in Apple in Dubai seemed to begin when a report surfaced in 2013 that Apple took the top 3 out of 5 Smartphones in United Arab Emirates. Two years later and Dubai will now enjoy two flagship Apple Stores with a third rumored to be in development.
