Arriving with iOS 9 on September 16 is Apple News, a new app that aggregates content from a wide variety of publishers and serving it up in a sleek interface. Apple's starting partners include Condé Nast, ESPN, Hearst, Bloomberg and CNN, and many others. Apple is using a combination of algorithms and editors to curate the Apple News feed, highlighting particularly interesting stories and tailoring the news to each individual reader. At launch, its markets will be limited to the U.S., U.K., and Australia and expand over time around the globe.

Today we're learning that Copycat Samsung has announced that they've gone into high gear, partnering with European publisher Axel Springer to launch "UPDAY," which is currently in Beta in Germany and Poland. It will expand to other European markets beginning some time in 2016. Axel Springer is Samsung's sole partner for the time being, but the firm is a European publishing giant. Bild, its tabloid, is among the most popular papers in the world. For more on this, read the full Motley Fool report.

While it's only natural to laugh at Samsung playing 'CATCH-UPDAY' with Apple, Samsung got their dig into Apple on their UK Twitter site on the day that the Apple Pencil was announced. Samsung's simple tweet says it all.
