Foxconn and Pegatron Running Full Tilt to keep up with iPhone 6s Demand

10.6. NEWS - RUMOR

According to a new supply chain report, Foxconn and Pegatron, the two major assemblers of the new iPhone 6s devices, reportedly have been running at full capacities due to brisk sales of pink iPhones and strong demand for the iPhone 6s Plus in China and other markets in Asia.

The report further notes that Largan Precision and Catcher Technology are also set for strong performance in the fourth quarter of 2015, buoyed by robust sales of the new iPhones.

A record 13 million units in weekend sales have dismissed makers' previous concerns that sales of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus might not be as good as the previous generation because the new iPhones do not come with a slew of new upgrades in terms of hardware specifications, said the sources.

However, the availability of the 3D Touch feature, improved camera capability as well as the 'rose gold' finish model has pushed consumers to scramble to pick up the new iPhones, added the sources.

Buoyed by strong sales of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, total shipments of iPhone devices are expected to hit a record of 75-80 million units in the fourth quarter of 2015, higher than the 74.5 million units shipped a year, the sources estimated.
