Apple is Understandably Cautious on Initial iPad Pro Orders
A new supply chain report this morning states that orders for the new Apple 12.9-inch iPad Pro starting at US$799 represents the smallest of all iPads and unlikely to make a meaningful contribution to Apple's bottom line.
Yet considering it's only the beginning of a new category of iPad, its contribution to profits wasn't Apple's immediate goal. Apple's new iPad Pro is designed to enhance the Apple-IBM MobileFirst push into the enterprise where iOS is dominating and push further into the education market over time.
The product features Microsoft's Office which was specifically designed for the iPad Pro's Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil stylus. Below is Apple's Press release in jumbo format.
