Apple Retail Stores and Staff are Preparing for Big Apple Watch Launch this Month

Late last month we posted a report titled "While Apple Watch Sales are slowing, they're Likely to Rebound Once they Land in Apple Stores in June." The report had pointed how sales of the Apple Watch were reportedly slowing. Yet in that same report we had noted that Apple's CEO Tim Cook hinted during his trip to China that Apple Watches were coming to Apple Stores in June so that customers would be able to buy one in the store instead of having to reserve it online. A new report today is claiming that Apple is now preparing for a launch of Apple Watch in their retail stores later this month.

In last month's report we quoted Slice Intelligence as stating: "One big question is how Apple Watch sales will change once people are able to simply walk into an Apple Store, try one on, and buy it. That hasn't happened yet." Well, that's about to change later this month.

With Apple's World Wide Developer Conference kicking off next Monday, we're likely to hear about some Apple Watch improvements such as speeding up apps and the launch date(s) when Apple Watch will be officially hitting Apple Stores in North America and beyond.

In a private video message to retail employees today, Apple Senior Vice President of Retail and Online Stores Angela Ahrendts and Vice President of Retail Operations Jim Bean reportedly informed retail staff that training materials for the retail launch are once again being distributed to employees.

Ahrendts reportedly told employees that "This is our moment to shine, this will be a launch unlike any we've ever had beforeā€¦ this is what you were born to do, this is why you are at Apple."

In other related news today, Trip Chowdhry of Global Equities wrote in a note to clients that developers with whom he has spoken with have a system of checking on Watch orders that has proven fairly reliable in past for Apple products. He noted that "various tracking methods developers use, which have an accuracy of more than 85%."

Chowdhry further noted that "demand for Apple Watch continues to get stronger," ticking off a list of stats:

World-wide Apple Watch orders stand at over 7 Million units; of which, Apple has now shipped about 2.5 Million. Apple should easily ship more than 5 Million Apple Watches by June 30 '2015. Apple Watch Applications from SAP, IBM, Oracle, and Zoho will be driving Apple Watches into the Enterprise. Apple is on track to deliver 40 million to 42 million Apple Watches at $575 ASP by end of CY2015; 2015 is shaping to become "Apple Watch Christmas."

And lastly, a new report published earlier today stated that Smartwatch display unit shipments are expected to grow 250 percent year-over-year, reaching a record 34 million units in 2015, led by demand for the new Apple Watch.

If Apple stages an Apple Watch launch in Retail Stores this month that resembles anything like their classic product launches, then sales could easily get back on track and gain some traction.
