Apple Granted 44 Patents Today Covering Vehicle Location, Lateral Force Tracking, iPhone 5C Design Wins & More
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office officially published a series of 44 newly granted patents for Apple Inc. today. In this particular report we cover Apple's patent relating to the future CarPlay service of locating your car in a parking lot. We also cover a magic mouse related invention relating to lateral force tracking and a few design wins relating to the iPhone 5C and more. We wrap up this week's granted patent report with our traditional listing of the remaining granted patents that were issued to Apple today.
Granted Patent: Method for Locating a Vehicle
Apple's newly granted patent covers their invention relating to wireless communication between computing devices and more particularly to using portable computing devices to locate a vehicle.
Patently Apple originally covered this as a patent application back in April 2013. To review the details of this patent with its multiple graphics, see our original report. Other related invention include: One, two and three.
Apple credits Brian Tucker, Emily Schubert, Jesse Dorogusker, Joakim Linde and Stephen Chick as the inventors of granted patent 9,041,556 which was originally filed in Q4 2011 and published today by the US Patent and Trademark Office.
Granted Patent: Using Measurement of Lateral Force for a Tracking Input Device
Apple's newly granted patent covers their invention relating to Input devices for computing systems, and more particularly, to a method and apparatus for using force sensors for generating input data. While generally it relates to the magic mouse, Apple notes that the principles of the invention could apply to video game consoles, set-top boxes, televisions, personal computers.
In general, Apple' invention covers systems and methods for using measurements of a lateral force applied to a motion-based input device. The input device has a force detection module operable to detect lateral forces applied to the input device and generate force data representative of the applied lateral forces. The system also includes a processor coupled to the force detection module. The processor is operable to initiate an event based upon the force data.
Apple credits David Amm and Omar Leung as the inventors of granted patent 9,041,650 which was originally filed in Q3 2008 and published today by the US Patent and Trademark Office. To review today's granted patent claims and details, see Apple's patent. Other related patents include: One, two, and three.
