The Popularity of Apple's iPhone 6 is Still on Fire and likely to Set New iPhone record for Apple's Q3
One of the key points that we listed in yesterday's report titled "A Review of the Key Points from Apple's Q2 2015 Financial Conference Call," was that while Apple sold 61.2 million iPhones in Apple's fiscal Q2, Cook believes that there's still significant growth ahead for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus as there's still evidence of momentum which could be bad news for Samsung and LG who are trying to sell new smartphone models. Within 24 hours the news confirms that Apple's iPhone shipments are on track for another record.
According to a new supply chain report this morning from Taiwan, "iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus shipments in the second calendar quarter of 2015 are expected to exceed 60 million units, more than the originally expected 50 million units, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers."
The report further noted that "In contrast to the iPhone, China-based smartphone vendors were originally expected to have increased shipments in the second quarter but shipments for them have not increased, implying that smartphone demand in the China market has not yet rebounded in the second quarter."
