Economical Microsoft Surface Hybrid Device to Launch in May
Panos Panay, head of Microsoft's Surface team introduced their latest Surface 3 hybrid tablet/notebook today. What's different about this version is that the "Pro" has been dropped to reflect this new economical Surface model which is out to tempt students and everyday users.
Of course Panay obsessively compares the Surface 3 to Apple products once again stating that "It's also super thin: just 0.34 inches, only slightly thicker than an iPad Air – but less than the new MacBook."
It will cost $499 + the Surface Keyboard at $129, if you need it, for a $628 total before taxes etc. The new Surface 3 comes with 2 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage. You could add 4G-LTE for $100. It runs Windows 8.1 and is Windows 10 ready. The new Surface will run on Intel's new Atom X7. It will go on sale in May.
