The iPhone 6 was the Top Smartphone in Taiwan for December
Last month we reported that the Apple iPhone 6 was ranked as the number one smartphone in Taiwan in November in terms of both sales volume and sales value. Apple's iPhone 6 took 4 out of the top 5 smartphones sold. Today, news out Taiwan confirms that Apple's iPhone 6 mania continued through to December and remained the number one smartphone by even a stronger margin.
In November we reported that Apple's iPhone 6 took 24.6% market share in Taiwan and for December that number grew to 25.9% according to data compiled by local retail channels. HTC came in second and Samsung surprisingly came in third.
In terms of sales value, Apple accounted for 53.2%. The iPhone 6 model with 64GB took the top spot while the iPhone 6 Plus 64GB took second places. Sales momentum of iPhone 6 devices is expected to continue to the Lunar New Year holidays, which begin on February 18, said sources at the channels.
